Outdoor Learning

Every Tuesday afternoon the KS1 and 2 classes have the opportunity to take their learning outside to our amazing Forest School area. We alternate Forest skills and cooking on the fire with activities linked directly to the current topic so the learning is always  meaningful and relevant. This week Wonwell class focused on Science by exploring how much water is needed to change mud from a solid into a liquid. We then used the mud mixture like paint and explored how we could use it on tree trunks to make pictures. Mothecombe class focused on their geographical skills. The children worked in teams to create maps of the area, showing the location of key points of interest and thinking about the dimensions. They will use these maps in the coming weeks.
