Year 1 took their phonics outside this morning. We are thinking about alternative spellings for the same sound. For example ee as in tree, ea as in tea and ie as in chief. The children had to hunt around the garden and find different sound cards hanging on the trees/in the greenhouse/ in the tyres.  They had to read the sound and think of words that are spelt using it and record it in their books. What a lovely way to start the week!
