Holbeton Primary School

Welcome from the Head

'Small but Mighty - More than just a School'

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our school website and I hope that it provides you with some insight into what makes our school so special. Holbeton School is nestled in the heart of Holbeton, a small rural parish within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The school is currently made up of four classes from Nursery (aged 3 onwards) to Year 6. At Holbeton, we look for opportunities to take the children’s learning beyond the classroom; bringing learning to life with first hand, practical experiences through Forest School, Beach School and Farm School. We foster a life-long love of learning through the outdoor experiences we provide, offering a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum which is enriched further by our wonderful location and surrounding areas. We have high aspirations for all the children in our care and strive for academic excellence. We have a friendly, proactive school community with whom we work closely with to ensure our children have the best opportunities. Being part of a small school enables us to build nurturing relationships with each child and recognise and grow their individual strengths and interests. The children at Holbeton school, leave as confident individuals, successful learners and responsible citizens for the future.

It is always best to come and see what we do firsthand, to get a feel for the school, and I invite you warmly to come and visit, meet the staff and children and see for yourself why the school is so special.

- Mrs Sarah Honywill, Headteacher.
